Um, hello? Where the heck did April go? One minute it was March and then, I blinked, watched a couple of Game of Thrones episodes and now I need to write an April recap? Spoiler alert: my month mainly consisted of getting excited for and then watching Game of Thrones.
But seriously, this month really got away from me. Mainly because my freelance business got really busy all of a sudden so I’ve had WAY less time to read and blog, which I’m very sad about. We also start ramping up our house renovations, which has kept me busy and exhausted.
I’m hoping to get back to a bit of normalcy for May and VOW to carve out some time to read and catch up on book reviews. In the meantime, here’s what I did manage to accomplish this past month.
I did manage to read 4 books in April, which is way less than I had hoped for. My list of books waiting to be read for author reviews, NetGalley and upcoming blog tours is starting to get a little overwhelming so I may take a break from accepting any more review requests until I catch up (which is SO tough when something good comes along!)
So that brings my Reading Challenge numbers to:
- 2019 GoodReads Challenge: 13/60
- 52 cozy mysteries in 52 weeks: 7/52 read; 5/52 reviewed
I’ve started joining some book blog tours and I’m really grateful to the authors and the blog tour organizers for giving me the opportunity to join in and get to know some great new books that are coming out. I didn’t realize I had so many blog tour posts this past month (it’s probably the only reason I blogged at all!) and there definitely will be more to come!
- [spotlight] The Golden Hour by Malia Zaidi [giveaway] [blog tour]
- [spotlight] The Lost History of Dreams by Kris Waldherr [blog tour]
- [review] Prologue to Murder by Lauren Elliott
- Author Q&A with Joyce Tremel
- [cover reveal] Murder at Macbeth by Samantha Goodwin [blog tour]
As I mentioned, I’m falling behind in my reading and I am accumulating books at a crazy rate! Aaaah! I definitely have to make sure I set out some time in May to catch up on all these great books I’m getting!
So that wraps up my April! I feel like I need more hours in the day to get everything done – do you ever feel like that? Anyhow, let me know how your April was, and if there’s any books I shared here that you’re looking forward to reading!
Thanks for stopping by!
