Well, it’s September. And while I know summer is technically not over yet, I, along with most people, pretty much say goodbye to summer once August ends. Not that I want to – I could happily live somewhere sunny and warm year-round, but I have to face the inevitable soon and acknowledge that yes, Winter is Coming.
But in the meantime, I’m happy to report that my life is getting a teeny bit more balanced these days. I still work until the wee hours (it’s currently 2:28am while I type this) but I have managed to completely block off Saturdays as “no work” days and most of Sunday as well. And it has made a huge difference.
I’m still reading a lot more thanks to a mix of print and audiobooks, but my blogging has been a bit behind. I have a lot of reviews to get written, so I’m trying to get those done before committing to any new blog tours or Netgalley requests. However, Autumn is coming and that means a super-busy publishing season and lots of good reads are coming our way so I want to get moving on my plans.
I managed to read A LOT of books this past month – more than I have pretty much ever, so that was kind of a surprise nice. I managed to get through a lot of audiobooks this past month which helped my total.
I am, however, only just halfway through my #AToZCozy2020 Reading Challenge so I’ll have to get moving on that!
Here’s what I read in August:
And here are the books I listened to in August (notice a theme?):
- 2020 GoodReads Challenge: 78/100
- #AToZCozy2020 Reading Challenge: 13/26
I had a terrible month of blogging in August – I was so swamped with work that I didn’t really feel up to blogging at all. I’m hoping I can get back into it this month as I have to catch up on some reviews and I have a lot of special posts planned!
- [review] Booked for Death by Victoria Gilbert
- [review] Rags of Time by Michael Ward
- [review] Thread and Dead by Elizabeth Penney
For September, I’m currently trying to write a blog post about my audiobook activity (which I’ve realised is heavily centred on Agatha Christie books), focus on cozy mysteries so I can finish my annual Challenge and launch a new project that I’ve been wanting to do for ages (more on that later because I don’t want to jinx it!)
And that’s it for August! Let me know what you’ve been up to – I really want to hear from you! Stay safe and stay kind!
