July, like every other summer month in history, went by way too quickly. It was a really quiet month for me here on the blog because I took a VACATION! If I seem excited it’s because I really am – aside from short weekend roadtrips, this was our first real vacation in four years and we spent it lazing around the beautiful beaches of Oahu, Hawaii. It’s one of our favourite travel destinations and I swear, if it wasn’t so far away (and so expensive) we would be there at least once a year.
Regardless, it was WONDERFUL to just relax, stay offline as much as possible, and just recharge my severely drained batteries. I have been working extremely hard the last couple of years as I went from full-time employee to on-my-own business owner so I really think I deserved to take a week off in paradise.
I thought I would read a lot more books in July because of the long flight and airport layovers, but while I did have more time to read than usual, when I got home, I had more work than usual, which cut into my reading time, so it all ended up being the same as the month before.

Now it’s back to reality – I’ll be spending August catching up on work and this book blog. I have a bunch of books lined up to review and some interviews to share, so (hopefully) things will start ramping up again!
Thanks for stopping by!
Aaah, that’s so nice that you went on vacation!! I’m on vacation right now, and I’m spending so much time lazing around on the beach that I’m not really reading much at all 😂 Hope you’re having a great August!
