When I said that July went by super fast, that was because, apparently, I hadn’t met August yet. This month just ZOOMED by. Part of it was probably because I’ve been feeling really under the weather, so a huge chunk of the month was just me feeling very tired and cranky.
This was my laziest and least productive month of blogging since I started my blog in January! I have made a conscious decision to catch up on my blogging over the next week or so, which means that (hopefully) September will be nice and full here on book frolic.
I’ve also decided not to accept anymore review requests from now until the end of the year so that I can catch up on the reviews I have already committed to. However, if something really, really special comes along, I will agree to accept it, which is why I’m not closing my review/blog tour requests completely – but just being much more strict about what I take on. With the holidays coming up and a busy fall season in terms of work (I do work with authors after all!), I feel like I shouldn’t be spreading myself too thin.
With the end of August, that also means the unofficial end of “summer”. I’m not really a cold-weather person so I’m really sad about the days getting shorter and cooler (OMG, I’m already being bombarded with Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING posts), but I’m trying to stay positive – more time indoors means more reading time, right?
I only managed to read three books in August (I was either working or napping) but I’m going to start blocking off time in the mornings for reading so I’m hoping that becomes a good habit (we’ll see – I’m not a fan of getting up early in the mornings!
