I don’t know what came over me in September but I finally started blogging more and really enjoying it. I hope I can manage to keep this pace up since it’s going to be a very busy Autumn – both for my work and for this book blog.
In all honestly, my TBR is so long that I promised myself that I wouldn’t sign on for any more blog tours or request any more books via NetGalley until my current commitments were wrapped up. Of course, that meant that 2 days later I had requested (and been approved for) four new NetGalley books and a blog tour. Why do so many tempting books come out in the last four months of the year?
In any case, I’m really happy with my book activity this past month and here’s looking towards October (can you believe it’s already October??)
I finally fell into a good reading pace this month but I realized that I needed to either A) start writing my reviews as soon as I finished reading a book or B) start using a notebook to jot down my notes. I’m most likely going to opt for Option B. I have a lot of notebooks hanging around, plus I don’t always have the time to blog so it’s not always feasible to write the review right after I finish reading the book. I also apparently have a terrible memory, so a notebook would really help.
In any case, here are the books I managed to read in September (I’ve also started 4 other books but haven’t finished them yet so they won’t appear in this recap):
- 2019 GoodReads Challenge: 35/60
- 52 cozy mysteries in 52 weeks: 15/52 read; 10/52 reviewed
- [review] The Garden Club Murder by Amy Patricia Meade
- [cover reveal] Shadows of Hemlock by K.M. Pohlkamp [blog tour]
- [review] Into the Wildbarrens by Christian Sterling
- Author Q&A with Laurence Westwood
- [review] Barnabas Tew and the Case of the Enlightened Cow by Columbkill Noonan [blog tour]
- [review] Word to the Wise by Jenn McKinlay
- [review] A Cup of Holiday Fear by Ellie Alexander
- [review] Last Pen Standing by Vivian Conroy
With a bunch of blog tours and NetGalley deadlines and new books coming out next month, it’s going to be busier than ever! Hopefully I can stay on top of my deadlines before the really busy holiday season begins!
Thanks for stopping by!
It seems like you had a great month and I’m so pleased you have been able to blog more often. Have a wonderful October, Stephanie!
The same to you Stephen! I’m looking forward to seeing what you read this coming month!
