Monthly recap: September 2020

book frolic monthly recap September 2020

Time works in mysterious ways. With the pandemic (and honestly, there’s been a pile of other crazy things this year), 2020 has felt like it’s lasting FOREVER, but at the same time, I’m finding it really hard to accept that it’s already OCTOBER. OCTOBER!

I’m not a big fan Autumn. Do you call if Fall or Autumn? It means that Winter is Coming (Hello Game of Thrones!) and as much as I love living in Canada, I DO NOT enjoy Canadian winters. And this year, with the pandemic still looming large, I have a feeling that it’s going to be a tougher winter than usual.

I’m trying to focus on the things I’ve always loved about the Autumn – cozy sweaters, beautiful Autumn colours and cozy, comfort food. What do you love about Autumn?

book frolic read

I continue to make my way through the Agatha Christie book list via audiobook, which is just as enjoyable as ever, but I also managed to read a few physical books too. I’m only 8 books away from hitting my stretch goal of 100 books this year (I had originally set my goal at 50 books but increased it when I hit the goal earlier this year)

Unfortunately, I just realised that I am only halfway through my #AToZCozy2020 Reading Challenge and I only have 3 months left to the year so I’ll have to get moving on that!

Here’s what I read in September:

And here are the books I listened to in September:

  • 2020 GoodReads Challenge: 92/100
  • #AToZCozy2020 Reading Challenge: 13/26
book frolic blogged

I managed to blog more in September than I did in August and I hope to continue the upward trend. I love blogging and reviewing, but there just never seems to be enough hours in the day!

I did have a lot of fun writing some of the blog posts I posted last month, including an interview with one of my favourite authors, Alexandra Walsh, and a 5 for Friday list of historical cozy mysteries.

My goals for October are to read more cozy mysteries and catch up on reviews (I’ve been declining review requests and blog tours and staying away from Netgalley in an effort to catch up).

What do you have planned for October? Let me know what you’ve been up to – I really want to hear from you! Stay safe and stay kind!
