Agatha Christie fans (including myself) have been celebrating all things Christie this year. Why? Because 2020 marks 100 years since the publication of Agatha Christie’s first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, the book that launched the famous detective, Hercule Poirot into the world. Today is another important Agatha Christie date worthy of celebration – the Queen of Crime was born September 15, 1890 so Happy Birthday Agatha!
Originally I was more than excited to join the Agatha Christie reading challenge (#ReadChristie2020) which helps you choose a different Agatha Christie book to read each month, but then as I started to discover audiobooks, I realised that I really enjoyed listening to Agatha Christie books. I mean, REALLY enjoyed it. And considering I had never been able to get the hang of audiobooks before this year, that was a huge deal to me.
So without even realising it, I have been slowly making my way through the ginormous Christie bibliography via audiobooks this year. I’m probably not going to finish before the year ends, but I still think that this is an achievement work tracking and celebrating (when I finish).
While I’m not sure that I’ll be reviewing every single one title, I did want to write a little bit about them so I’ll be doing mini Christie reviews, in batches of 3-5 as often as I can.
I’ll be keeping track of all the audiobooks here, plus linking to the post that includes that book’s mini review from here. I’m not sure how long this will take me since Christie has written so many books. I’m thinking it will take longer than a year but regardless of how long it takes, I’m definitely going to enjoy #ListeningToAgatha.
